The “Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers” restaurant started out as a college dream by Todd Graves. At this time, Todd Graves was a new college graduate. He wanted to build a restaurant that would only make high-quality chicken finger dishes and not any other food. But his idea was not supported by the professors. He said, “a restaurant in South Louisiana that only serves chicken fingers would never work.”

In 1994, as a brand new college graduate, Graves sought funding for his restaurant initiative. Convinced by the bankers who found his plan ridiculous, he decided to take matters into his own hands and raise cash in the old school system – hard work. After working at a subsidiary refinery in Golden State and fishing for salmon off the coast of Last Frontier, Graves came to Baton Rouge and opened his 1st restaurant near LSU Gate in 1996. He named the restaurant if he wanted to do his Yellow Research Lab racing.

The rest is history – dipped in a bit of cane sauce.

International Expansion

Rising Ken’s Chicken Finger Restaurant first began expanding internationally in 2015. They are opening the first restaurant in Kuwait. This is where their international journey begins. And currently has 600 restaurants in 31 states.
